DNS setup for GoDaddy

6 min readAdd the VoraMail ownership, MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records in GoDaddy DNS.

This guide shows how to add VoraMail’s records if your domain’s DNS is managed at GoDaddy. Keep the VoraMail setup wizard open in another tab so you can copy each value.

Open DNS management

  1. Sign in to GoDaddy and open My Products.
  2. Next to your domain, choose DNS (or Manage DNS).
  3. You’ll see the list of DNS records. Use Add New Record for each record below.

Add the ownership TXT record

  • Type: TXT
  • Name: _voramail-verify
  • Value: the voramail-verify=… value from the wizard
  • TTL: default (1 hour is fine)

GoDaddy adds your domain automatically, so enter only _voramail-verify, not _voramail-verify.yourdomain.com.

Replace MX records

Email can only be delivered to one provider, so remove or edit any existing MX records (for example from a previous email host or GoDaddy’s own email), then add:

  • Type: MX
  • Name: @
  • Value: mail.voramail.bulletplushosting.com
  • Priority: 10
If you currently receive email somewhere else, changing MX moves new mail to VoraMail. Create your inboxes in VoraMail right after verification so no mail is missed.

Add SPF

You can have only one SPF record per domain. If a TXT record starting with v=spf1 already exists, edit it instead of adding a second one.

  • Type: TXT · Name: @ · Value: the SPF value from the wizard

Add DKIM

  • Type: TXT
  • Name: the DKIM host from the wizard, without your domain at the end (everything before .yourdomain.com, ending in ._domainkey)
  • Value: the full v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=… value. Paste it as one line.

Add DMARC

  • Type: TXT · Name: _dmarc · Value: the DMARC value from the wizard

If a _dmarc record already exists, keep only one.

Verify in VoraMail

Return to VoraMail and click Verify DNS. GoDaddy usually publishes changes within minutes, but allow up to an hour. Still failing? See Getting started or contact support.
