Getting started with VoraMail

5 min readCreate your account, connect your domain and send your first email in about 15 minutes.

Welcome to VoraMail. This guide takes you from a new account to your first sent email. Most people finish in about 15 minutes, plus however long your DNS provider takes to publish records.

What you need

  • A domain you own (for example yourcompany.com) and access to its DNS settings at your registrar or DNS host.
  • About 15 minutes.

1. Create your account

Go to Sign up, enter your name, email and a password. Your account is the login you use to manage domains, inboxes and billing.

2. Add your domain

Open Settings → Domains and click Add Custom Domain. Enter your domain without www or https://. VoraMail generates the DNS records for your domain, including:

  • a unique ownership TXT record that proves the domain is yours,
  • an MX record so mail for your domain is delivered to VoraMail,
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC records so receiving servers trust your mail.

DKIMTXTthe host ending in ._domainkeythe v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=… value shown in the wizard
DMARCTXT_dmarcv=DMARC1; p=quarantine; …
Copy values exactly as shown in the wizard. The table above shows the shape of each record; your token and DKIM key are unique to your domain.

3. Add the records at your DNS provider

Follow the guide for your provider: GoDaddy, Namecheap or Cloudflare. Other providers work the same way: create each record with the type, host and value shown.

4. Verify

Back in VoraMail, click Verify DNS. We check that your ownership TXT record matches and that your MX record points to mail.voramail.bulletplushosting.com. If something is missing, the wizard tells you which record. DNS changes can take from a few minutes to a few hours to appear, so if verification fails right away, wait a little and try again.

5. Create your first inbox

Once the domain is verified, go to Settings → Inboxes and create an address such as you@yourcompany.com. See Creating an inbox.

6. Send your first email

Open Mail, click Compose, and send a message. Try the compose options: Track opens, Follow-up and Send later. You have 30 seconds to undo any send.
